Fence is a kind of block made from wood that can be used as a wall. Players and mobs cannot jump over fences. (except Spiders, wolves and horses). Fence occupies the center space of blocks and automatically connects to any solid block that is placed next to it. Fences will connect to fences of the same type, and wood fences will connect to other wood fences.
Fences are usually used to make a fenced area where mobs or players can be outside or inside this area. Fences can also be used as railings, especially on the edges of balconies or floating platforms. Fences can save a player from falling off while still allowing them to easily see past the fence.
